When cave paintings and images were enough to communicate man came up with language. The texts in these images have been given the same form but their order has been slightly tampered with making it less comprehensible. It is to break down words in such a way so that a person has to struggle to read an entire statement and despite the struggle he/she is not sure what they really read. This is because there is a disturbance in the order of something very common and seen every day. As humans it’s our nature to want a conclusion, an end result of all our actions; a sense of closure. When that is taken away from individuals they tend to feel uncomfortable. The idea of making an effort in life to struggle and not getting results is unsettling. Similarly, my images leave the viewer uncomfortable. My aim is to create the "unsettling" feeling.

I lost my arrogance as human (hi res).JP

As humans we consider ourselves a superior race. Our ability to make rational decisions rather than following our instincts is our core argument for proof of our ingenuity. It is what sets us apart from other species. but what happens when we stop thinking for ourselves but rather become a product of other people’s opinions? My work is a comment on the loss of individuality and the irony of still considering ourselves superior. The point where man loses the status as “social animal” and is just reduced to being a “cog in a machine”. Repetition is used to reduce the importance that is attached to the human form, where it is no longer glorified, but is simply a part of a greater picture.
